April 3, 2008 | 1657 GMTIraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said April 3 that he will initiate additional security crackdowns in Baghdad and other Iraqi locales similar to those launched in Basra against so-called criminal gangs, media reported. The prime minster specifically mentioned two Mehdi Army strongholds in Baghdad, Sadr City and Shula, claiming the areas where [sic] under criminal gang influence.
